The present research was conducted with the aim of analyzing the concept of citizenship in elementary social science books. The research method in this research is descriptive and content analysis type. In this research, the content of the social studies textbook has been examined and analyzed in terms of compliance with the components of the citizenship education approach. Education of responsible and knowledgeable citizens is one of the most central and fundamental missions of education in different countries. Every country, in the form of formal and informal education, has the task of preparing its citizens to enter social, economic, political and cultural life, which it does in the form of direct education of citizenship through the inclusion of a course title of the same name or in the form of teaching different subjects. . Citizenship education is pursued at all levels of education, but this goal is in the primary period, where students are expected to play a role in the development of their personal and social affairs as a responsible and independent person in the future, and to acquire relative abilities in performing social, political and economic duties. It is especially important for educational systems. For this reason, in this research, an attempt is made to investigate the role of fifth and sixth grade social science books in the level of attention paid to citizenship concepts.
