Geography education, as one of the key subjects in the educational system, is of great importance in the cultural and social development of students. This article examines the importance of geography education in Iranian schools, the challenges and obstacles that exist, and the solutions to improve it. Using qualitative methods and content analysis of related texts, the literature and educational records of geography in Iran have been examined. The findings show that the lack of educational resources, deficiencies in curriculum planning, and lack of attention to modern teaching methods are among the main challenges of geography education in Iran. Finally, suggestions are presented for improving geography education. This research was conducted to emphasize the need for structural changes in the educational system, especially in geography education, and to identify practical solutions to address these challenges.
